Rising Professionals | Can We Talk? The foundations of crucial conversations
Opening a dialogue when the stakes are high, opinions vary, and emotions are strong.
Regardless of role, industry, or seniority, hard conversations are often what end up shaping and defining our personal and professional relationships. The ability to be confident in conflicts, take emotion and transform it into powerful dialogue, and prepare for high stakes scenarios can make the difference between a good leader and the best leader someone has ever had. This session will cover the foundations of crucial conversations and provide tools that will last your entire career.
Goals
During this session we will:
- Discuss what a crucial conversation is, and why opening a dialogue is a critical leadership skill
- Identify our communication strengths and obstacles, as well as the necessary elements that go into having crucial conversations
- Mindfully practice opening difficult dialogues and provide constructive feedback to each other
We will not:
- Remain focused on our limitations or fears
- Expect perfectionism, only practice
