The Intersection of Entrepreneurship & Innovation

February 20, 2019

Northeast Ohio Innovation leaders gathered at Tremco’s Test Wall facility for the EDGE InnoQuest session led by Dr. Stephen Brand, Associate Director of the Berthiaume Center for Entrepreneurship Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts. During this interactive workshop Stephen presented two different perspectives on Innovation Management: one on the ideation side and one on building great innovation teams. This session built upon our recent InnoQuest discussion with Dr. Gerard Puccio on “Creating Innovative Organizations.” The Tremco team shared their innovation journey and demonstrated their test wall.

In this workshop, Stephen presented two different perspectives on Innovation Management: one on the ideation side and one on building great innovation teams.

Innovation and the Business Model Canvas – A standard in new idea/new venture generation as a foundation for launching new innovative ventures as a start-up and within a company.  Stephen engaged the group in a game that allows people to see their companies through the lens of different brands using the canvas, which leads to innovative ideas within the model and a shift of management, funding and external crises.

Building Innovation Teams Using Foursight – Foursight is an innovation thinking assessment tool and looks at how different profiles impact time and resources needed to be more efficient in the product development process.
